The NSW Arrows final squad of 20 athletes for 2010 has been announced following rigorous training and selection processes. The NSW Arrows will compete in the 2010 Australian Hockey League (AHL) under the new revised format which will see them play two rounds in Hobart and Darwin in May before finals week in Adelaide in early June. The 2009 NSW Arrows went through the AHL undefeated and will enter the 2010 season hoping to protect their brilliant run and the prestigious national champions title.
The 2010 Arrows coach, NSWIS women's hockey program head coach Anthony Thornton has high hopes for the team, which features no less than eight current AIS/Hockeyroos squad members and five Australian Junior World Cup athletes. "I am delighted in the quality of this group of players. There is significant competition for places in the team and that is great for hockey in NSW." In addition, the team has called upon the experience of ex-NSW and Australian representative Bianca Netzler who retired from international hockey following the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. Netzler, 33, a midfielder has continued to play hockey in the South Coast Women's competition in recent years and has relished the chance to return to the Arrows squad.
