NSW U15 teams head to nationals

The NSW U15 Girls team commenced their Australian Championships campaign yesterday with a strong result over ACT 3-0.

The 2008 NSW U15 Girls finished in 3rd place 12 months ago on home soil in Newcastle and this year the team will look to improve on the result.

Spurred on by a year of impressive results by all three NSW senior female teams with the NSW U18 girls taking out the national title, the NSW U21s narrowly missing first place and earlier in the year the NSW Arrows completing an undefeated AHL campaign - the U15s will be hoping to continue the positive results for Hockey NSW.

The NSW U15 Boys will head to Adelaide to defend their 2008 title against each other state and territory from October 1.

Results from the championships will be posted under Events > National > U15 Girls/Boys as soon as they are known.

NSW youngsters prepare for U13 Invitational in Coffs

Hockey NSW in conjunction with the Coffs Harbour Hockey Association will host the 2009 U13 Invitational Championships from October 5-10.

The invitational, although not being an official Hockey Australia national championship, is an annual event which sees NSW, QLD, SA, ACT, Tasmania and Victoria compete in a round robin tournament over the six days.

NSW U13 Boys and Girls teams will enjoy their first experience of wearing the NSW colours at the invitational, which should be a fun tournament celebrating hockey development and participation.

NSW will also have four umpires attending the championship and we wish them and both NSW teams all the best of luck.

Results will be posted on the Hockey NSW website during the tournament.
